OK - got to work and same result.

I confirmed by going to the web address that it is connecting to the SSL and as always this works just fine - up to an including playing files.

Android client - no connection. For some reason it just seems to not use the proxy I put in there. Is there any other way to make it use the proxy than entering it in the WiFi configuration?

Delete the settings for your site on the phone. Reboot the phone then test with my site below and then reenter the settings for your site and test.

OK - I did that .Exactly the same - it immediately comes back with "network error". For all the world it looks like the client is just ignoring the proxy settings and I can't find anywhere to tell it to use them :(.

It's a real shame - this is spoiling an otherwise perfect product that fills every need for me.

I have another app that does the same thing but not as well and that works perfectly so I am pretty convinced that it's not proxy filtering. I also figure if it was then the web site would not work either.

Does the phone connect to the demo site? Can it connect to my site listed at the bottom?

Sorry - maybe I should have been more clear.

I did what you suggested but was not able to connect to your site. I am also not able to connect to the demo server.

Then you are effectively blocked by the proxy server. Use 3g.

But i am not blocked by the server. I am blocked by the app. Like I said it works fine on my tablet through the web browser so it's not work it's the app. For some reason the app is not taking the setting from the system as it should.

I wonder if it will be changed in the next version and work right. It would be great if it did.

Thanks for all your help with this though - it was appreciated.

I know on Android sometimes the applications stay running, and Subsonic is guilty of this as well... you might try manually terminating the Subsonic application when you get to work. Then disconnect 3G, connect WiFi, turn on Subsonic app.

That might actually work. You might have some lingering TCP connections that are still trying to go over your dead 3G signal instead of WiFi. If that's the case, some code optimizations may be needed in the next Android release.

I don't have any Android devices or else I'd test it for you.

I had a problem like this, so I looked at what port our Business's proxy server was using, then used that as the port to connect to for Subsonic. Worked like a charm!
