Some albums won't play - lame:excess arg Before error

I'm getting errors playing a recent set of files that were just added to the library. Other things play fine. The flacs have been checked and play fine. This occurs with both the web player and mobile (android). Same error everytime. The file shows up in the player but there is no sound and the timer does not move. Most other files play fine. This seems to be limited to about 5 albums I added a few nights ago.

I rebooted the server and this did not help.

I'm running this:
Version 4.4 (build 2172) – February 6, 2011
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_18, Windows 7 (205.2 MB / 481.8 MB)

What are the transcoding settings?

Were the recently added files ripped with the same software/settings as the rest of your files?

It looks like your FLAC comments may contain quotes.. That could be causing a problem..

If you have metaflac installed try listing the comments with this command.

metaflac --list --block-type=VORBIS_COMMENT example.flac

replace example.flac with the file you were trying to play in the previous logs.

post the output here for us.

He is right... you have an Album tag set to:

1975-03-17 Seattle Center Coliseum - "Haven't We Met Before"

...including the quotes...

Another option is to just remove the tag pieces from the transcoding options... ie, the "--tt %t --ta %a --tl %l" pieces...

But "yourlord"'s suggestion is better... fix the offending files with a tag editor. Maybe even Subsonic's built in tag editor.

That worked. The subsonic editor didn't seem to work, but mp3tag took care of the problem. I didn't realize quotes were a problem. They don't seem to cause trouble in other players.
