Building dedicated server

Postby yetirider » Sat Jun 18, 2011 10:13 pm

Hi

Currently got subsonic running on my NAS
Thinking of building a dedicated file server to host it.
What spec would you recommend and which OS?

I've had a quick look at this motherboard for a small form factor.

Can anyone offer a cost effective solution?
Must be small, quiet, low power consumption and hold two disks.

Cheers Phil

You'll get much better performance without too much of a power consumption hit if you use the Intel 2100T instead. I'm using it to transcode 1080p video on the fly.

If you're not concerned with video your selection should be fine.
