I will add some more logging and errorhandling as soon as I can. It seems as though there are more problems than I anticipated.

Have been running it on my own computer for a while now and it works reasonably well however it is my development computer so I have everything installed and am running as admin.
Will remove the donate button for now as I feel it is mocking me

Same thing on a Windows XP virtual... I guess some library is missing...

This was a humbling experience to say the least....
I will see if I can setup some virtual machines tonight to test with.
Good thing I actually know my dayjob...

Glad to hear you are interested!
I have no intention to make SharpSonic paid as of now.

I started making this app because I use Subsonic as my only source of music (since the Android version came along) and I wanted a desktop-player for my self then I figured I´d share it here and see what ppl think.

I have a ton of ideas for this project and I am going to keep working on it for as long as I think it is fun and if I ever give it up I might(but no promise) release the source-code and let other ppl continue with it.

If it becomes popular and someone wants to pay me I will gladly accept donations though

Hiya,

I would definetily like to use this addon, but after following the instructions, upgrading my Windows 7 32-bit and 64 (sp1) workstations with the latest suggested update, and after restarting, I still get this error window. Looks like the system cannot use the latest .net version?

As an addition, this screen prevents me from going onwards, so it's kind of critical matter on the behalf of usage of the UI.

It´s really strange, I have gotten the same prompt on a fresh install of Windows 7 32 bit, but after installing and restarting it has worked.
Maybe you could try re-installing SharpSonic.
Will have a new beta out this weekend, gonna remove .net 4 from my testcomputer and install there.

I tried again on 4th Windows 7 Ultimate PC - with no luck. This one is 64-bit version.

Before setup, I ensured that the .Net framework components were installed and up-to-date by Windows Update, and the machine was restarted.

Still, even running with administrative rights or without them, I still get the same error message as described at my previous messages.

I have removed the pre-requisite for .net 4 in the beta 3 that I will upload tomorrow.
.Net 4 is still required but the app should now not check for it.

Are you sure you actually did the removal of the prerequisite? The very same issues still occurs after removing the previous version, restarting the PC, and downloading the beta3 and installing it. At the point when I try to "run as administrator", the popup tells me I have to download the .net Framework 4, even I surely have it installed.

After removing all of the .net 4 components from my test computer I was able to get the same behaviour as you. The thing is that you need both .net 4 client profile and .net 4 extended installed for the app to work.
If you check what you have installed it should show:
Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile
Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended

Thank you for taking the time instead of just ignoring the app. My primary programming experience is with Webapplications so this installing stuff is a bit new to me. Will get better as I go I hope
