Guest playlist not working any clues?

Postby dba61 » Wed Jun 29, 2011 11:44 pm

Recently I submitted a help question: Theme not working, where is my error? that is still waiting for an answer. However, to add to this question I created a playlist for guest users to hear and view the site hoping someone can helkp me. My problem is that the playlist doesn't aleays load by it self anymore and since then I get error #2032 in the player which means the file is missing.

Could this be because I did not give them the ability to listen to music and if sohow can I set it up so they can browse but listen to the playlist only?

Hey ya,

I'm not sure how you have set up the playtlist so I'll just let you know what I know and has always worked for me.

So you have created a playlist in Subs, then clicked on the more option then click on the option that says click here in the podcast section. Or http://yourserver/podcast.view?suffix=.rss. This page can only be accessed with username and password or if your already logged into Subsonic. Now the link that says stream is the link you can send to friends which should always be able to be access as long as your Subsonic is up and running.

Incidently are you using a name as your server or a IP address, if so is your IP address static or dynamic.

My examples: -

http://94.195.246.158:4141/stream?playl ... uffix=.mp3

Hope I'm not telling you to suck eggs in case you knew all of this.

regards

Thank you trying to help Mark. Thank you also for the compliment on my theme. I hope to have the last of my icons done this week and once I get all the text working I will try to post it for others to use.

Problem might be solved but I need a few others to sign to make sure.

After initially giving the guest account play privileges and playing a song from the playlist I signed back in as administrator and revoked the privileges again; however, the guest user is now able to play the music on the guest playlist. After some more users sign in I will know for sure if it works.

Here is an image that will might be helpful on getting help. It should be possibel to allow a guest user to browse but only load and listen to premaid playlist.

The first image is actually playing music from the logged out admin account dba61

Image

This image shows the guest account listening to the playlist just not displayed on the right side.

This image shows the error.
