Open-link-in-new-window only opens frame

Sounds like a minor issue, but for my specific set-up, it is very annoying... In various circumstances, subsonic just displays one of its frames (the main one) instead of all frames including the top-nav-bar. the side-left-bars and the playlist...

The easiest way to replicate is to open a video- or music-folder as "open-link-in-new-window". It does open it up in a new window, but only the main frame.

Any way how to change this behaviour? Tried on various browsers and result is always the same...
