Android - hide cover art from Gallery

Postby ggibby » Wed Jul 06, 2011 1:46 am

Adding a .nomedia file to \subsonic\artwork folder will conceal artwork from the Gallery app, which is much neater for the overall phone/tablet experience.

I've done this on my rooted HTC Inspire, and it does not affect Subsonic's ability to access the cover art.

Are you trying to hide just the art and not the music?

There is a "Hide from other" option in the settings that prevents the gallery from seeing the art. This also prevents the music from being shown in the music app too, though. Personally, I'm fine with both the music and art being hidden.

Both work but I would prefer a way to have the art hidden but the music not hidden. I like to play the files I have local to my phone through the music app. To do that you can't use the two option listed above or the music will be hidden too. The album art really messes up the gallery! Can't win...
