Please check out the new beta of the Subsonic Android app!

o Added equalizer.
o Added simple music visualization.
o Nicer widget and notification, courtesy of jsr.
o Changed header font.
o Changed Unpin behavior, added Delete.
o Changed swipe direction.

(Note that the equalizer and visualization will only appear on devices with Android 2.3 or later)

I am using this applicaiton on a motorola xoom tablet. I do not see the option for the EQ or visualization. Does your statement of 2.3 or greater also cover those of us that are on running OS version 3.1?

By the way I am not getting the FC probably because I can't see the EQ or Visualization.

That is very interesting. Getting the log when this happens would show exactly why it crashes. (You can use the "alogcat" app to get the log).

There are two new buttons (EQ and VIS) to the right of the album art in the "now playing" screen. If they are not there, could you please look for clues in the log. (Search for "equalizer" or "visualizer"). Try killing the app completely (in Settings > Applications) first.

Getting the same behaviour. Subsonic force closes when getting into the EQ screen and then backing out to the "Now Playing" Screen.

I am not sure how to view the logs on my android device. At this point I dont see any issues on the server. What I do notice is that when rotate the device the screen will adjust and when I am looking at the 10.1 inch screen in portrait mode I can see VIS option. The EQ option is still unavailable. Honestly I would rather have the EQ than the VIS if possible. It seems like the larger screen does not show everything as it should. I installed the app on my wifes evo 4g and no issues there it works perfectly and looks ok but that is a 4.3 inch screen. Any thoughts? By the way this is the best app and server ever. Worth every penny of my donation.

Thanks for the continuous improvements to the Android app - I have started using Subsonic for last 2 months and this has become the most used app on my smartphone.

I am currently testing this beta on HTC EVO (running gingerbread 2.3.3.) and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Will report how it works in few days time.

By the way, we could really use a different interface for honeycomb tablets - with added screen estate. The phone GUI works but it looks out of place in many cases.

The VIS button isn't included in landscape mode (to save some space), so that is as expected.

I really would like to get to the bottom of why it crashes when exiting the equalizer. Not sure why there was no stack trace in your log, maybe it's disabled for signed apps? When it crashes, do you get a dialog where you can report the error? If so, can you please do so. If not, I can make a special version for you with some extra logging.

I even uninstalled and purged the settings but still the same behaviour.
