Upgrade from v3.4 to v3.5.beta1 on Windows?

Postby Concept211 » Mon Jul 07, 2008 4:26 pm

I had v3.4 installed already and I then downloaded the v3.5.beta1 and installed over the existing version. But when I then run it again and log in, it tells me i'm still running the old 3.4 (build 530) and that there is a new version available.

Do we have to uninstall the existing copy before installing the new one? I didn't want to uninstall because I didnt want to lose any configuration/settings.

Anyone else have this problem?

No, my settings were intact. I'm running the windows installer version and my upgrade went to 3.5b1 fine, but I did notice another issue: I've made significant customizations to the java and css code, so I intended to copy those files out and copy them back in after the upgrade, but each time I start the subsonic service back up it seems all the files are restored back to their initial install state. Will this change once the non-beta 3.5 comes out?

OK.

I had to delete the c:\subsonic folder...

back up the db and any modified jsp's before you do it!

Now I'm at 3.5b1
