adding folder with subsonic running on QNAP (Linux)

Postby m0gwai » Mon Jul 18, 2011 9:07 pm

Hey guys,

I found out I could run Subsonic on my QNAP and I was quit psyched about it, followed a tutorial and installation was a breeze, after installing tomcat, I just downloaded the .war and deployed, in no time I was in the subsonic configuration UI.

The problem is, impossible to get subsonic to find my MP3, I tried everything!!

My first guess was that since subsonic was running on the qnap itself, I would just SSH and get the complete path to my MP3, this didn't worked, I made sure to chmod everything but no luck.

Then since I use the QNAP to stream across the house the folder is both shared on windows and OSX, so I tried to add \\localhost\folder\path, with backslash, with frontslash with domain with IP... N O T H I N G S works.

I can access that folder fine with my other PC, without any credentials so can't be an access rights problem...

I'm running out of ideas, any clue?

Can't help too much as I dont have a QNAP but are you pointing SS to your root music folder?
If your directory structure is say music/artist/album/tracks (eg mp3s) then you point SS to your music folder.
Dont forget to update the search index afterwards and also look in the log file as it may shed some light on the problem
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.
