i need help with subsonic on ubuntu and client from Vista laptop. I run Subsonic on Ubuntu in my home local network for video stream. i use subsonic web with ubuntu laptop and XP laptop without any problem. But my sisters have laptop with Vista, and she cant connect to web. she have empty web browser screen. a have tryed connect with another Wista laptop, same problem.

May be some body can help me.

Just for troubleshooting this issue, can you try a couple of the following things:

- Install Google Chrome browser on the Vista laptop, try to connect with that.
- Install Firefox browser on the Vista laptop, try to connect with that.
- Disable any virusscanners and firewalls on the Vista laptop.

Let me know if you have any progress on this

I have tryed with Firefox and Chrome, same problem.
i have changed port 4040 to 80 - same problem

when i try to open subsonic web browsers long time try to load but without results.
i can just see how change adress: if i put my server ip adress in browser look like: ipadress/index.view? but screen empty.

with disabled antivirus and firewall same problem

You should enter the address like this:
http://IP:PORT

That should be enough.
On the other hand you could try a couple of things, on the Vista machine:

1. Start --> Run --> cmd
2. ipconfig

Do the same on the XP machine which can connect and compare the DNS and Gateway of both machines.

Check the host file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
Open the 'hosts' file with notepad and compare it with the windows 7 machine...should be the same (almost).

Reboot the Vista machine in safe-mode with network functionality and try to open the link again...still not working?

How is the vista laptop connected to the network? Wireless? Cable?
Run Ccleaner.com on the Vista machine and clean all temp. files.

Let me know if one of those options gives any results
