Album/Artist/Song totals

I did try searching for this, but determining search terms that weren't so generic as to result in thousands of hits was difficult -- and searching for "All" keywords results in no hits. Thusly...

I frequently do the Update Search Index Now, under Settings->Search, to update the index after I've added a few dozen albums. This works successfully and the new albums can be found via Searches and they also appear under Recently Added as well.

It's the totals in the upper left that don't always seem to update. Sometimes they update fairly quickly, but other times I can add two dozen albums over the span of 3 days... and yet a week later the album/artist/song total remains the same as it was prior.

Even tried the whole shebang: stopped Tomcat6 entirely, started it up back up, cleared browser cache, and did another Update Search Index.... no dice.

Is there something I'm missing that needs to be set, or done, in order for those # totals to update reliably? Or is this simply a known bug that is on the To Do list?

I think magic is involved I had just added a new artist and a couple of albums to my music directory so after reading your post and seeing similar problems myself I noted the totals, updated the search index and just refreshed the web page and all the totals updated correctly.

Some interesting additional info...

Generally I use two machines at the home office -- the work laptop, and another small desktop to the right for music/video work. The server resides elsewhere.

On both machines, in Firefox or Chrome, the artist/album/song count has been stuck for what I'd say is about 2 weeks. On a whim, I decided to VNC into the server box and bring up a browser there to check SS (had never viewed SS on it before). Sure enough the album/artist/song totals are higher and up to date.

So it appears to be a browser caching issue, or perhaps a SS issue of not polling for new data -- this is even after I close out all browsers, delete unnecessary files, clear the browser cache, do a Ctl-F5 or alt-reload to ignore cache, etc.

Really, very strange. Seems it's just a matter of figuring out how to tell the browser that those numbers need to be updated...

I can confirm having the stats update delay in Opensuse 11.3 x64, running WAR with tomcat 5.5 and Chrome on the client side. Interestingly enough, my PC at work with Chrome shows the updated stats the next day......
