Simple question: Android app, what exactly is pin/unpin?

Postby Mangraa » Tue Aug 09, 2011 11:01 pm

Apologies if this seems like it should be obvious, but it isn't to me; also I cannot find a simple explanation of what this feature is (perhaps it is buried in some wiki entry on the horribly slow wiki page...)

So, can someone explain what pin/unpin does, and/or verify my suspicions below?

I am guessing that pinning an item means it will not be deleted locally once the cache size has been met, so it's always stored locally for offline playback. Is this right? Is there more to it or is that it?

Thanks, and sorry if this has been answered, I couldn't find a straightforward explanation.

You are correct. It means the file is "pinned" and wont be automatically deleted by the cache settings. The Yellow Asterisk files mean they are not pinned and could be deleted if needed.
