WAV Files not playing

Postby jbraveman » Tue Aug 23, 2011 4:58 pm

I have a few WAV files in my collection that I'd like to listen to. When I try to play them, the player cues the file, but won't play.

[8/23/11 12:43:37 PM EDT] INFO PlaylistInputStream jbraveman listening to "Grateful Dead - 1993-02-23 FOB\gd1993-02-23encore.wav"
[8/23/11 12:43:38 PM EDT] DEBUG TranscodeInputStream Starting transcoder: [c:\subsonic\transcode\ffmpeg] [-i] [\\Media-pc\i\FTP\Grateful Dead - 1993-02-23 FOB\gd1993-02-23encore.wav] [-v] [0] [-f] [wav] [-]
[8/23/11 12:43:38 PM EDT] DEBUG TranscodeInputStream Starting transcoder: [c:\subsonic\transcode\lame] [-b] [160] [--tt] [gd1993-02-23encore] [--ta] [] [--tl] [Grateful Dead - 1993-02-23 FOB] [-S] [--resample] [44.1] [-] [-]

I'm running this.
Version 4.5 (build 2385) – August 11, 2011
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_26, Windows 7 (41.3 MB / 71.9 MB)

It didn't work on the previous version of subsonic either.

I'm using the default transcoding options wav>mp3:
ffmpeg -i %s -v 0 -f wav -
lame -b %b --tt %t --ta %a --tl %l -S --resample 44.1 - -

Playback of my flacs or mp3s is working fine.

These files are large. Smallest is 112mb, The largest file is nearly 2gb. Incidentally, there is a 600mb flac that won't play either.
I'm wanting to listen to a raw work files from some digital tape transfers.

Thanks for the help.

I would try a small (say 8 mb) wave file as a test.
It also looks if your if your memory allocation is a bit low try adjusting it to 256mb in the control panel.

My memory is set to 1000. I'm not sure why it says less.

Try setting your memory via the control panel to 256mb.
Someone else came up with a similar problem and I wonder if there may be a upper limit which you may have inadvertently passed. :?
Unless you have a very large collection you shouldn't need much more than that.
