BT Openzone & BT FON connection problem

Postby whitespider » Fri Aug 26, 2011 3:25 pm

Hi guys. Just a quick question for the forum as I've found nothing on the net that helps me. I'm a BT customer and use the Openzones and FON hotspots a lot. But having purchased the ISub music stream app for the Iphone and the Sub app for my HTC Android and downloaded and setup the PC software, Im now stumped. When I connect using my home wireless connection the whole system works fine, but I just cannot get the app to work with either an Openzone or BTFON connection. Is it simply not possible to do this? The whole point being that I want to have access to my entire music library while out and about without having to connect to other peoples WIFI and sap their download limit.
Many thanks in advance, and I hope this hasn't already been addressed.

Forget about the openzone hot spots for the moment does it work outside your network at all?
Try to access your server from someone elses network.
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

Does it work if you are connected to someone else's wifi (IE, not your own)?

If it does, it definitely sounds like a problem with the BT network blocking the traffic.

If you CANNOT access when on someone else's wifi, then the problem is with your router/firewall setup.

Feel free to PM me your server address and I will check from here. No need for logon info... if the logon page appears it will be enough to troubleshoot.

FYI, I deleted the duplicate post from the FAQ forum. We can consolidate troubleshooting in this post.

It would also be helpful to know what, port the server is using. :D

Alright guys, well I tried someone elses Wifi and got connected, but was still stuck with the Openzones and BTFON hotspots. However, I've since gone back to my older BTHomehub 2.0 and it worked, although sometimes it seems to lose the server. I used a couple of programs called Port Checker and PFConfig to help me through it. So now it seems the main problem is with the dreaded Homehub 3.0 (which I've since read that you can't forward more than one port???) Any ideas how to achieve port forwarding on the 3.0, or should I just go buy a decent router?
I believe the port used was 80 by the way.

Thanks for the help by the way.

@whitespider

.... your outta luck with HH3, you'd be better off using a third party router.

Check the BT forum, lots off peeps with this issue but no resolution :(
