Pogoplug anyone?

Postby Aqualung » Mon Sep 05, 2011 2:58 am

Now that I have Arch Linux ARM on my POGO-E02, I am looking for a FLAC streamer. Would I be able to install Subsonic on my Pogoplug?

I think you will probably get a better response on the ArchlinuxArm forum where you have just been.
But if you read http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=185 this will give further info.
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

I have Subsonic running on a Sheevaplug development kit, which is another ARM box. The Sheevaplug boots Debian squeeze from an SDHC card. It's important that you use Sun java and not the open-source one. In my experience, running Subsonic on the Sheevaplug with the open-source java is so slow as to be unusable. With Sun java, it works quite well.

Thanks, I saw the post that advertised using Sun java instead of the open-source one, and I'll keep that in mind. For a while I was toying with the idea of using MPD instead of Subsonic, though someone told me that people are having issues streaming to Android with MPD, so it looks like Subsonic might be my best bet for now.

Thank you for your suggestion, cheers!
