Subsonic 3 Android client and navigation etc. other sounds

Postby oshogg » Mon Jul 25, 2011 5:20 pm

I have Subsonic 3 Android client - which is working very well for the most part. The one problem I have is that when I use other application that has audio output (such as navigation route commands for example), and when Subsonic 3 is playing - the navigation commands were not audible. When this happened, I was connected to the Car Speaker system via Bluetooth Audio.

I have HTC EVO 4G (running Sprint's Gingerbread 2.3.3 stock ROM) and I am using the latest Subsonic 3 android client from the Market.

Thanks,
Osho

Are you absolutely sure it's not a Subsonic issue? Other players (PlayerPro, stock) don't have this issue.

I think if you read the link that Jeff posted you will find a number of players are having similar problems.

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

Doesn't the fact that most/many players have no such problems indicate that the others are simply doing something wrong?

Same issue here. Pandora works fine, google's built in music player is fine, along with a few others.

Subsonic and navigation were fine together in android 2.2, so sure it's something that google did in 2.3, but i don't think it's a "bug" per se. Hopefully subsonic can be updated to implement the workaround/fix so that it works well with NAV. If Pandora can do it i'm sure it can be done here too.

Why do you believe that? There was nothing in the changelog to suggest it...?

Will try it out in the next few days though.

The "Always pause playback on incoming/outgoing call. caught my eye" I tried it myself and nav seemed to work this time. Not sure if it was a fluke, but previously it did the low volume thing 100% of the time.

Where is the "Always pause playback on incoming/outgoing call" option? I can hear the navigation voice now (It's not really quiet like it used to be), but the music doesn't stop when the navigation needs to speak. Thanks!

Not an options. It was in the changelog in the latest subsonic android client release.
