Can't connect to Subsonic all of a sudden

Postby heavy_glow » Fri Sep 16, 2011 3:16 pm

Hello,

I'm a paying member and use Subsonic nearly everyday, and a couple days ago it just stopped working completely. I'm unable to connect to the server both from my phone (using the 3G service) and via my computer at work. However, when I'm home, I am able to access the web interface when connecting via local host (port 80). I've been troubleshooting this by logging in remotely.

I didn't upgrade to 4.5 immediately, and went ahead and did so thinking this may solve the problem, but to no avail. Everything seems great on the server end. It just won't connect from the outside. I've tried using my registered address and ip address, and still nothing. I've also stopped/started the service a bunch, made sure no multiple instances were running, etc.

I played around with port forwarding a bit, switched the ports, and it could successfully connect via localhost, but never from the outside. I disabled my Windows firewall, and it still wouldn't let me in.

I'm running this on an old Windows XP box. The only thing I could think of was that maybe my ISP was restricting me somehow, but I forwarded my port to 1027, and I still couldn't get through.

Subsonic rocks - and I can't get through my workday without it! Help!

You say you changed the port but the log is still showing port 80?
Change the port to something else say 8080 - then check with canyouseeme.org to see if the port is open.

I'm betting that the internal IP address of the computer running subsonic has changed... can you double check that the IP address that you are forwarding the port to is the actual IP address of the computer running Subsonic?

Just a stab in the dark...
