Subair says online but all fields are blank??

Postby tmfk » Sat Oct 01, 2011 5:08 pm

Hi. I have googled and not found the answer so if this is answered somewhere already, I apologize. I have a subsonic server running just fine on Windows 7 on my local network. I can reach it from a Mac, a Windows, and Linux machines. When I install subair on my primary laptop it doesn't seem to work. It says online in the top right corner but all fields are blank. I checked the firewall and I don't think that is the problem. Any ideas?

Have you entered your log in details and subsonic url into the settings tab?
Also check the version number which should be shown on the bottom right

Thank you for stopping by. Yes my username password and server address are all correct. The server is set to use https and it automatically uses https when I type the local private IP address (192.168.2.13) into a browser. I have gotten it to say "online" in the top right corner before but with no luck- The Music library shows a blank as do the playlists. Version info v.0.031. Currently not showing as "online". Ping from PC to server works. Browser from PC to server works. Ping from server to PC works. It's just not populating the fields so the Music menu is blank. I don't know what to do to get it working :(

You have licensed your SS? This is an app so only works with licensed SS installs.
If that is not the problem then try turning off the ssl and test again.

Yes, I donated and entered the code they sent me from subsonic so I don't think that is the issue.* I will try to enable for only port 80 and see if that fixes it, but something tells me I tried that. I believe it worked through a different computer at one time as well so I am going to try to use another machine running subair. I have a feeling it is my laptop here that is the problem. I just don't know how to correct it short of a re-image which is not an option. I have installed subair and uninstalled it a few times with no change.

I will update after I test it. Thank you for checking in on this thread.

edit: This is however, the second time I have installed it. I changed from a Vista to Windows 7 and ran Linux in between so that box is a different OSW than the one I was running when I originally was given the code. I have re-entered the code and my url at subsonic works to route outside traffic to here so figured it is done but maybe there's a glitch?

As far I am aware all the apps use the api calls so try another app (suggest a free one :P ) and see if that works ok.

Which may work fine for you within your local lan but will not work outside of your lan.
You should be using http://yourname.subsonic.org registered address which will sort out your external IP and port no.

Well something worked because now I can see the musical artists listed. I am getting an http error and a certificate error though so still isn't working. Do either of you know how to fix that situation or should I create a new post? Thank you for your help too. I am embarrassed to say that my problem was probably the direction of the slashes after the http.

I am not sure if subair will work over https especially with the default certificate.

Subair works fine with the self signed cert in SS.
If your https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is your internal IP) works in your browser subair should work locally.
Not sure how you have your dns setup or firewall.
Some firewalls don't like redirecting (looping) your outside IP address for computers behind your firewall.
