Make certain "media Folders" private for certain users..

Love the fact that you can add multiple media folder file paths but it would be great if you could limit user access to certain folders. I have my library divided into public music and private music. I want to be the only one who sees and has access to the private folder.

No I never have. Want to be able to share my library but don't want them to have access to my private audio folder. I know I can just uncheck the box for that particular media folder but then I have to recheck it everytime i want to listen to it.

This is not the first time this idea has popped up, but I BUMP this.
Would be really great to have a bit upgraded sharing system where you can tick/untick shared folders per user.

I think it would be useful to be able to set what directories/folders each user has access to. I may want to give one user access to my music folder but not my video folder or allow downloads for one but not the other.

+8 would be a brilliant feature, i have a bunch of folders i would like to share just with selected ppl. at this point they have to stay out of subsonic and get pushed around by other means.

I'd like this too! I'm setting up a subsonic server for a friend and myself, and well, we have very different tastes in music, so I'd like to be able to use the "Media folders" feature to filter out each other's music... Maybe 3 media folders : two private and one "shared".

I'm fairly anal retentive about tagging, album art, folder structure, etc., so I have a workflow that new artists/albums go through before being enshrined in my "collection" - I'd like to be able to give my users access to the finished/curated "collection", while having access to the "raw" files myself.
