Video not found or access denied

Postby cwanja » Wed Oct 19, 2011 10:56 pm

Hello all!

Just signed up and of course downloaded and installed Subsonic. Loving it so far. Currently though, I am hitting on error. When trying to view a video file (.avi) I am getting the error "Video not found or access denied: /[url]".

Doing a fair amount of Googling, I found that I will be needing to symlink my ffmpeg install to the ffmpeg for Subsonic. I can not find though where my ffmpeg is installed.

Running a Mac Mini, 10.7.2, installed Java as of today - installed right after I installed Subsonic. Can someone possibly help with this? Much appreciated and looking forward to using Subsonic.

I might still need to install FFMpeg, I am not totally clear on whether or not it was packaged with Java.

Oddly enough, this magically started working by me clicking from an External player back to the Web player. Will reopen this should it happen again.

I'd like to reopen this to get the communities assistance. Currently it is a hit or miss when it works or when it errors out. There is no consistency to it, because media files from the same folders will play and some will error out with the access denied.

Something I am beginning to see is that a lot of them are .m4v files. Most the .avi files are working perfect.

Is there any logs or anything I can post that will further assist someone in troubleshooting this?

Thanks,
Chris

If you post the SS log showing the errors that will help.
Do any of your m4v files play?

Here is everything that I can see from the second I press play, this is what the log captured. Let me know if there is something else you would need. I also included the error that displays on the screen.

As for your question, no. None of my m4v files are playing.

Have you enabled the transcoding for m4v to flv in settings/transcoding?
Also check m4v is in your video mask in settings/general

Both are according to the attached images. Any other possible ideas? Is there a second step for conversion for m4v files?

The 2nd screen shot does not tell me if it enabled - 3 tick boxes, default enabled and delete
If it IS enabled then disable it and try again JW player will play mp4 (m4v) files without transcoding.
Also check that there are no DRM restrictions on the files.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem except I am trying to play MKV files. I haven't been successful playing a single video yet. My screenshots are exactly the same as cwanja. I don't have any DRM protected video files and I have tried to disable and enable MKV again from the Transcoding menu.

I found a solution that works for me. I simply downloaded a later build of ffmpeg (found here: http://ffmpeg.arrozcru.org/autobuilds/f ... 64/static/) then I replaced the old one in /var/subsonic/transcode.

I've only tried a few mkv's, but all played fine. I am using a Mac, but I'm sure you can use the same solution for PC or Linux.

After downloading a sample mkv file and then getting access denied blah blah I investigated further.
I then realised that enabling the transcode in settings/transcode does not necessarily enable the conversion in your active player.
So check your web player in settings/players and make sure there is a tick against that particular transcode in "Active transcodings"

I experienced the same m4v playback errors described in this post. I solved the problem by simply deleting the second transcode line for video.

Just delete the code you see below and it will work.

Settings > Transcoding

Code: Select all
flv/h264 video

avi mpg mpeg mp4 m4v mkv mov wmv ogv divx m2ts

flvffmpeg -ss %o -i %s -async 1 -b %bk -s %wx%h -ar 44100 -ac 2 -v 0 -f flv -vcodec libx264 -preset superfast -threads 0 -
