+1

I'd really like for users to be able to rate music outside of the ID3 tags' rating. It's not a must but I'd like to keep my ratings separate from my users'.

Also, the option of applying some sort of decaying rating system would be nice. For instance, a song like Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus may have been played 100 times and rated a 5/5 when it came out then gets so annoying that no one listens to it anymore. At that point, it's rating drops to a 3/5 based on the number of plays.

Ultimately, this would all be solved by some sort of Genius or suggestion system.

Any comment on this from Sindre? Is this something you've planned on developing? Is there a way we can get you to develop it? Or at let us know that you are adding it to your to do list?

A really big +1 on this feature request from me.

I second that. Please let us know if it is on your roadmap. So many new advanced features have been already added. So I wonder, why one of the rather basic ones is still missing.

+500!

Would love to have this if it also changed the rating of the music file itself.

It looks like this feature is highly sought after! 66 posts and OVER 9000!!! views and climbing. (Hopefully that will draw attention :)) If you are reading this then join the forum and post your vote to draw attention to this feature request.

Rating a song vs rating an album allows for a better music listening experience.

The idea of rating albums fails to satisfy many as stated before by other forum posts because many albums don't contain more than a few good songs. This also applies to directories of music that are custom mixes rather than albums.

I anticipate this feature, +1 is my vote cast.
