I have a similar problem. Can't figure it out at all.

Running 1000mb for RAM allocation, hit a high of 685mb.

I think an uninstall / reinstall may work?

Any ideas how to troubleshoot? Is there a command line tool that allows you to probe the lucene indices?

I found a tool -- LUKE http://code.google.com/p/luke/

There were a lot of albums missing in the index itself.

I found by deleting everything under lucene directory and the .index file and restarting, however, it seems to be at least mostly fixed. LUKE is now showing about twice as many terms in "album" than before. I'm not sure if it's 100% but it's much better.

Actually, just found at least a couple missing albums. So better but not perfect.

Thanks ajkessel,

I will try deleting the lucerne files/indexes and see if it can re-create them. If I see an improvement, I'll post it.

Hopefully, Sindre can make a future improvement to Subsonic by allowing the search box/function to return more than 25 results, too.

I have the same problem. Now I just added the new Five Finger Death Punch and it doesn't come up at all. I have 100K songs, memory in control panel set at 1000mb. The max I have ever seen SS use is 647mb. Any luck? I am thinking the system registry may have a limit.

I deleted the lucerne folders and files as well as the subsonic14 index thinking that this would solve the problem if Subsonic was allowed to re-create the files. No such luck.

I bumped the memory limit on the Subsonic server service to 768 MB. I boosted that memory amount thinking that it might help playlists load faster. I have no idea what the magic number is for that. I've got 2 gigs of memory in my machine. Playlists take forever to load, as do "play all" selections.

I HAVE FINALLY FIGURED THIS OUT!!!!

When I ripped CD's in with Media Monkey, I was checking the "level track volume" box. Subsonic wasn't picking the file up. When I rerecorded without the track leveling box checked, Subsonic picked it right up. Hope this helps! Maybe it is a metatag issue. I don't know but it works for me now.

When you ripped the cd's what format did you rip to? mp3's?
Also what MM version are you using?

I tested the hypothesis of track levelling in MM being a possible culprit.
I found a 2cd compilation album which was not in my library.
CD 1 I ripped to 320k mp3 without volume levelling
CD 2 ripped to 320k with volume levelling (Now I remember why I don't normally use that "feature" - takes for ever :( )
Both CD's contained at least 1 new artist (as far as SS was concerned)
I updated the search index and then searched for the new artists.
They were found on both cd's
:?
Ivanslav1 wrote:Maybe it is a metatag issue.

As far I am aware the volume levelling does not write any tag information unlike volume analysis which writes the ReplayGain values.
Ivanslav1 wrote:MM gold

gold is your licence not your version.

I was using MM version 4 RC5 and I no longer have MM3 on my pc so cannot do a direct comparison.
This problem only seems to effect a small number of users and with the limited info we have available there appears to be no common thread.
I checked via MM total no of songs and SS reports more than MM - this is to be expected as SS reports videos as songs (I think) so I dont think I have any tracks hiding in SS

5,033 artists
5,701 albums
66,301 songs (and videos  )

MM ver 3.2.5 yup Gold license...duh

Maybe I got lucky and got it to read. I went back to look for some track I know where missing and they are still missing so I'm SOL.

Other than a handful of CD missing, SS works great.

7,634 artists
6,898 albums
94,635 songs
