"Quote" marks=tracks not playing in web interface? [Solved]

Postby beatsystem » Mon Nov 21, 2011 5:29 pm

Hi,

I have a large pile of flac tunes that have titles tagged as follows:

I Feel Love (12" Version)

The use of the single quote mark to denote a 12-inch seems to stop the track from being played within the web interface's player - all other tracks play fine.

Having searched the forum, it looks from this thread viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3270&hilit=quotation that the problem lies within lame, rather than Subsonic, however that thread seems to be dealing with a different issue, and is rather too technical for me to follow.

Simply put, is there any way I can fix the encoder settings within Subsonic to play these files? Or do they all have to be renamed?

Many thanks in advance!

Check your version!
I am currently listening to a flac file via web player with a "double quote in the title tag (as a test) and it is playing np..
Note: single quote ' also np :?

Indeed you are correct!

Always stuck to the current stable version previously, but never had a problem until now, happy to see it's been addressed

Many thanks :)

I'm using V4.6, but have problems with albums (.flac files) from an artist with double quotes, like Lee "Scratch" Perry and a couple of others. It's only recently that I came to think it was because the double quotes.
