Media player help?

Anyone know why I cannot fast forward ir rewind a movie in subsonic, anytime I try it it just restarts from beginning
Im using the standard player that comes with subsoinc...and on that note I gathered you can use different players are any better then others, is there a compatibale list of those players?

Subsonic streams the video to the player. The way to change the location of the video playback is through the dropdown.

On that note, what if instead of a dropdown, there was a html slider, and when you change the position of the slider, it relayed that info to the server in the same way that the dropdown does!
