Subsonic not reachable outside home network

Postby Marcoevich » Thu Dec 15, 2011 9:51 pm

Dear Community,

I am new with Subsonic. I've been trying to get it working for over two weeks, but I still can't figure out how to do this.

I've setup my own xampp webserver including multiple web applications that are all reachable outside my home network.
I've achieved this by creating an account on no-ip.com and i've installed their update cliënt.

I've also forwarded the correct port in my router (which is now 4040), and I've tried 3 different ports, but none of them worked.

What else can I do to get my subsonic server working outside my own lan? I want to listen music on my phone, and also my friends want to use subsonic.

I hope you guys can help me out ;)

Best regards,
Marcoevich

Check with http://canyouseeme.org to make sure your port is open.
Also make sure nothing else is using the same port.

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

Hmm, canyouseeme.org says the port is blocked. But I've set up the portforwarding exactly the same way as for all my other applications... I've also tried 3 different ports but none of them are working.

What else can I do to get this port open?

You may need to reboot the router after making any port changes. Subsonic will not work on the WAN until it passes the canyouseeme.org 'test'. 8)
