Subsonic 4.6 Video Not found or access denied.

I installed subsonic 4.6.1 couple of days ago on an Arch linux system. I followed the steps on arch linux wiki entry for subsonic to run subsonic as no-root user. The wiki is at the following url:

I also ran the following two commands:
sudo ln -s /usr/bin/lame /var/subsonic/transcode/lame
sudo ln -s /usr/bin/ffmpeg/var/subsonic/transcode/ffmpeg

I added thee different video files (flv, wmv and divx) to the subsonic library.

However whenever I try to play these video formats in the web player I always get a black screened player with the message Video not found or access denied followed by a line of text/code.
It also does not play in external player like vlc. The vlc player gives the following error:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://192.168.1.100:4040/stream?player=2&pathUtf8Hex=2f766964656f732f6d697363656c6c616e656f75732f6b656e776f6f645f73616e74615f636c6175732e776d76&suffix=.flv'. Check the log for details.

I have tried different transcoding steps found on foroums and websites but none work. MUSIC IS WORKING FINE.

PLEASE HELP. I have tried whatever I could for playing videos. Videos and movies was the main reason I installed subsonic.

For help I have attached the subsonic log file.

Ok after 3 days of digging I found that vorbis-tools was not installed. A more clear installation how to, particularly on transcoding codecs and tools requirements would be extremely useful for newcomers. After installing vorbis-tools it now plays the videos (both in internal and external player).

same problem with version 4.6 but version 4.6.beta2 is OK
with version 4.6 if i load a video i have the message "Subsonic 4.6 Video Not found or access denied" and the log says "ffmpeg : failed to set value 'superfast' for option 'preset'"
if y modify superfast by veryfast, the video will open but an other video not with the same message above.

note : vorbis-tools was allready installed
so i'm returned to version 4.6.beta2 but it must be a bug

Hi,

I had the same problem as described:

"ffmpeg : failed to set value 'superfast' for option 'preset'"

After looking at the help for ffmpeg it looks like the preset has been changed to a number of different presets with new names.

Code: Select all

ffmpeg --help | grep preset

gives:
-fpre filename set options from indicated preset file
-vpre preset set the video options to the indicated preset
-apre preset set the audio options to the indicated preset
-spre preset set the subtitle options to the indicated preset

So what I did was simply to change from -preset superfast to -vpre superfast and now all my videos are working as expected.
My full video transcoding command are now:

ffmpeg -ss %o -i %s -async 1 -b %bk -s %wx%h -ar 44100 -ac 2 -v 0 -f flv -vcodec libx264 -vpre superfast -threads 0 -

I am running ffmpeg version 0.7.2-4:0.7.2-1ubuntu1

You might have tried this already or your problem is something else but anyway hope the above can help someone with the same issues as I had.
