Most people without a computer science degree aren't going to know what "Context path" means. Worse, on a TV monitor 10 feet from the couch, "Context path" looks a lot like "Content path" - or the path to all my music. I just wasted about 45 minutes with this, trying to get this field to point to G:\iTunes. So here's my suggestion...

If it's a setting most normal human beings will never need to touch, tuck it away in something like "Advanced Settings." Furthermore, add some tool tips or brief descriptors of each field in the control panel UI. Something like "The field does yada yada yada. Most people won't need to touch it." This would save a lot of time for novices like me.

Windows install allows a number of context paths eg on my system I use IP address:port/subsonic
You can also choose none or music
Not really needed unless you are using port 80.
Evidently the op cannot determine the difference between context and content from 10 feet away on a couch.

lol. I wish the context path was able to be configured easily on the linux install. I can't easily use port 80 for anything else besides subsonic. Using jetty as a web server for everything else isn't the simplest thing in the world. To be able to have my subsonic server be accessible through http://[subsonic]/music would be great!
