Is it already possible to remote control from Android to Android?

so that the Android tablet is a jukebox server and my Android phone is jukebox client and remote contorl music, is that possible too ?

Nice feature, thanks!

A side note: any chance for a UI refresh soon? Mainly the Now Playing screen needs some love, a rip off of something like Rdio or Google Music or Pocket Casts would be perfect. Basically a full width album cover and simple transport control bars, with shrink or overlay for advanced functions!

This is just AWESOME! Thanks for the remote control feature :D
Just a little bugreport: I can't browse through folders which contain a big amount of subfolders. Somewhere between 200 and 300 subfolders, it runs in a timeout here. Not a big problem, i count this as a reason to clean up the mess in my music folder  but it would be nice if the timeout there could be a little bit higher.

Remote control works great.

I just have a problem with scrobbling, it's ok with jukebox on the browser and with android in normal mode but doesn't scrobble with android as remote control.
I looked at the log, it reflects the above situation (no mentions of scrobbling attempts for android as remote control).

Thanks in advance for any answer/workaround.

I have a small(I think) request for the app. When browsing through the artists you get the little "tab" on the side that you can use to quick scroll through the artist list. Could you add this for the folders under the main folder as well? I have a few bands with a ton of live shows and this would make finding the later shows a lot easier.

this screenshot shows the tab on the right im talking about

Good idea, I'll look into it.

Thanks,

Hello! I've been having an issue while using Subsonic on my Optimus S phone. If I keep playing music on the phone without turning off the phone after a few days, the music suddenly stops playing and all sound on my phone is off as well. I have to reboot the phone in order to make things work again.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

I second this motion. Remote control is an amazing feature - I'm starting to use it all the time.. but the server doesn't scrobble tracks played this way. Currently looking for a workaround.

one thing id love is to see video playing working in app, like the youtube app works on android. SS for me is for video not audio so the android app is ok but as it just redirects me to the webbrowser it has a performance hit/bigger ram footprint to play a video.

I fired up this beta and tried out the remote control / jukebox mode. Worked great, I'm stoked on the feature, thanks so much Sindre. At the very beginning it seemed like the remote volume wasn't working, but then I changed tracks and it worked from there on out.

There is one quirk with the app in terms of usability : When you add to the current playlist it goes straight to playback mode and the playlist.

So let's say you want to add a bunch of singles to a playlist. This is the order-of-ops:
1. Press Menu Soft button to get treble clef to appear
2. Press Treble Clef to get to music
3. Browse from root of tree to music
4. select + add songs. You are placed in the player screen / playlist. Rinse, Repeat.

Two things that would be good here would be for a. the music list to be stateful and keep track of the last folder you were in, and b. to not go straight to the player after adding songs to be played.

best,
-m

How can I make my android turn into Jukebox mode? I have tried to change the andriod-player to Jukebox only on the server. But it still just streams. From my laptop Jukebox-mode works fantastic and I control the server (a win xp-laptop connected to my amplifier) from it. But after work hour I don't want to see the computer and therefore I would like to be able to control the music with my android.

If I only can get this working, I will stay on board this very interesting looking ship.

best regards
