Some errors (wav, m4a, parsing tags) (4.6)

Postby Archimede333 » Tue Jan 10, 2012 5:03 pm

Hello,
I have installed a Subsonic v4.6 on my QNAP. This sofware is pretty cool, but I have some problem :/

But, when I want to play wav and m4a I have this errors :

I would like to solve "InputStreamReaderThread" and "JaudiotaggerParser" errors.

Thanks a lot for your help.

The only errors that I can see are from the wav files.
What program are you using to tag them?

You failed to mention in your 1st post that the files didn't play!

I would suggest you try to play those files in another media player.
I just did a test by ripping a couple of tracks to WAV lossless with WMP.
To say that the results was less than satisfactory would be an understatement
Even WMP couldn't play them OK without a lot of skipping etc
However they did play in SS (badly)

Can you play any transcoded file eg not a mp3 or flv?

I thought that with the log, that would have is enough to see the errors. But I think that I didn't well express myself, and I bgin again my explications ;)

I have recently installed Subsonic on my NAS QNAP, and I cannot play .wav and .m4a files (with flash player into SS). I obtain presents errors in the log above (ffmpeg errors). I have also too erreur "Parser Error when parsing tags".

After your post, I have tested to listening .wav with another player (Windows Media Player). Obviously, it doesn't work because FFmpeg doesn't manage to encode files.

I come to read the .mp3 files ;)

Thank you for your help ;)

I think we are having problems here with the translation :?

Are you saying that WMP cannot play the file that IT created.
WMP does not need FFmpeg it has its own codecs

Download a flac or ogg test file from the internet and see if subsonic can play it.
If it cannot you may have a problem with your transcode directory.

Also check to see if you can play videos (non flv)

Yesterday, I tryed to play .wav by using "external player" configuration of Subsonic ;).
WMP reads perfectly .wav file that it created.

I followed your advice and I can't play .ogg file and video (.mp4).

I do not like the look of those "UNKNOWN" flags in the log and its obvious that the transcoding isn't working.
You may have to wait for someone familiar with your hardware / OS to help further :(

Is the wav issue you are experiencing not the same as: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8533?
Transforming music with wav as an intermediate is therefore not working. Downgrading to version 4.5 fixes it. (qpkg is downloadable from the same topic on the qnap forum)

Hi,
After downgraded Subsonic (4.6 to 4.5), I could play wav, ogg, flac (etc.) and videos files. After having seen transcoding parameters, I reinstalled Subsonic 4.6, and added transcoding steps from v4.5 for wav, ogg, flac, wma and mpc files.

Step 1 :
ffmpeg -i %s -v 0 -f wav -

Step 2 :
lame -b %b --tt %t --ta %a --tl %l -S --resample 44.1 - -

However, I can't play video (I don't use Subsonic for it). Subsonic works verry well ;).

Thank you for your help.
