Sharing a folder or shorcut on external drive

Running out of space so I grabbed an external drive and created a folder on it called "2012_MEDIA"

Sometimes the left.view panel takes a while to load so on main screen i put a link to newer added folders / titles for example

ipaddy.:8080/left.view?musicFolderId=8

which bring folder content of 2012_MEDIA but there is no option to share it & when i add it to shortcuts it also doesnt show

On main music drive i have a folder named "2011_MEDIA" which the shortcut & link to its folder shows up, when i click it it also shows options to share

Is this option available? Or is there a way i can find the permalink code to that folder to share?

for example when i play a title from that folder the link is

http://ipaddy:8080/videoPlayer.view?pat ... opout=true

Is the link to that whole folder in that string somewhere?

The string is composed of multiple things, one of which is the path encoded in hexadecimal. Go to google, type in "hex to text" and convert the hex to text.

Now, if you want to specify your own path, you can either encode it into hex and set "pathUtf8Hex=", or you can kept it non-encoded and set "path=".

For example, you can access the same thing using an encoded path as with a non-encoded path:

http://ipaddy:8080/videoPlayer.view?path=f:\2012_MEDIA\MOVIES_Flowers_Of_War_2012.avi&maxBitRate=1000&timeOffset=3&popout=true

I use linux, so I don't have the "f:/" which might be a problem for windows users. But maybe escaping it would solve the issue (if it is an issue).

did the hex to text it usually comes back with a bunch of ?????????? in the string for example

translates to

at least in windows it does

Im more looking for the string for the folder f:\2012_MEDIA so I can share the folder like I can share my z:\2011_MOVIES folder the difference being the 2011 is on the main music drive and the 2012_MEDIA is on an external drive but there isnt even an option to share folders on other internal drives

and it doesnt even show up in shortcuts just the drop down menu and left view

I also tried ipaddy:/videoPlayer.view?pathUtf8Hex=F:\2012_MEDIA\ & ipaddy/left.view?pathUtf8Hex=F:\2012_MEDIA\

and error page came up

In short I can link to folder ipaddy/left.view?musicFolderId=8

but cant share it and sharing options dont appear

and i would like to create share link for it would also like to share individual videos like you can albums but when you play video share features dont show
