Also this only starting happening since I updated the Android app and updated the server to 4.6....tried going back a few versions on the Android app, same issue....perhaps a bug in subsonic 4.6?
When I get home I'm going to install an older version of subsonic

Couple questions -

1) What are your transcoding settings for ffmpeg when this happens?
2) ffmpeg bombs when trying to transcode just about all my mp3s, something with the way I tag them. Try changing your transcoding settings for mp3s to use lame instead. If you're going from mp3 to some other format, then use lame to decode the mp3s before feeding it to the other encoding app.

Also note, in 4.6 final VBR streaming to the Android app is just plain broken. Sindre should have a fix for this in the next beta (hopefully).

I'm having this issue on the G2X with CM7. It depends on what ROM is used.

The point where it skips is the exact time the download was at at the time the player started playing. So it downloads for example 100k of a track which could be 10 seconds. It starts playing and by the time it gets to 10 seconds, there is already 1MB downloaded. For whatever reason, the player doesn't recognize this and thinks the track is over at 10s. This is for VBR.

For CBR, including the demo server, instead of skipping forward, the player pauses momentarily and continues normally.

Please fix! I've explained this in detail before but it seems unimportant...I am willing to beta test version after version as I guess a big hurdle for the dev is not having a device that does this.

tried a rollback to 4.5.
same issue persist, which is really wierd as 4.5 worked pefect for me prior to upgrading to 4.6
also tried a rollback on my android app. this makes no sense, i didnt ake any changes to my library, how could a roll back not fix the issue?

Make sure you keep clearing the cache. I don't know much about android, but the cache is what causes these problems the majority of the time.

what temp solved my problem was I searched my media for all vbr encoded files, re-encoded with cbr instead.
on the release forum for 4.6, there is mention of the issue with vbr encoded files.
luckily for me, it was only 20 gigs i had to re-encode, i guess i changed from cbr to vbr sometime in the last 6 months...woops
have been running smooth for 2 days so im happy again :)
