Change SSL port

Postby daniell » Wed Feb 08, 2012 9:23 am

I'm running my Subsonic on jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_23, Ubuntu Server 11.10, and this works great on https port 443.
But I would like to use this SSL 443 port on apache server where I'm running another webserver.

I guess I need to change this port on subsonic/jetty server, and redirect it in my router to the new port !!
Anybody know what I need and how to do it..

I think you'll need to change the port number to whatever port you're going to use on the Subsonic control panel. Then, you'll need to go into your routers firewall settings and either add or adjust the port routing to the corresponding port you set up in the control panel. That should do it.

You may (but maybe not) need to add the port number to the server URL... that's assuming you're accessing the server from the android app like I am.

Why isn't it that simple? Just open the Subsonic Tray icon, change the port, and restart the service.

Then open that port in your firewall.

Your mobile clients should not need any change, and should not even realize any difference.

Hope this helps,

The subsonic is not the problem here, but when i do change the ssl port for subsonic,
it screws up the other services I'm running on Apache2, mail and webserver..

Well, theres a rude technical term. Changing the subsonic port should have no direct effect on Apache, it just binds to a different port.
