Subsonic process quits on Debian

Hopefully someone can give me some advice regarding how I should figure out why Subsonic is crashing. Thanks in advance for any input you can provide.

Problem Description: I have to restart Subsonic every day because the service crashes. The service crashes regardless of whether the site gets accessed or not.
Troubleshooting Steps: I haven't tried anything because I don't know where to start...
Playback Application and version: Integrated Subsonic interface but like mentioned before, the process stops even if I don't use the site.
Subsonic Version: 4.6 (build 2585) – December 6, 2011
Server Version: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_18, Linux (26.9 MB / 35.8 MB)
OS: Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 kernel 2.6.32-5-686
Hardware Platform: VMWare ESX hosted virtual server
Java Memory Limit: 100mb

I do not know what size music library you have but I would suggest increasing the java memory limit to say 256MB.
Does the SS log report anything just before the crash?

Right now I'm using Subsonic only for movies, if I get it running smoothly I may use it for music as well. My library contains about 650 movies which occupy 3.2TB of disc space. Based on those numbers, how do I calculate the Java memory limit size? And is the "Java memory" referring to RAM or disc space?

Does the SS log report anything just before the crash?

So far nothing of interest. I'll look at it again next time the service quits and I'll post anything that seems like it might help.

The java memory is the maximum allowed ram allocated to the operation of subsonic. With 3.2TB of movies, I would increase it to at least 512MB. Subsonic may not use all of the memory unless it needs it.

Looking at /var/subsonic/subsonic.log I found entries complaining that Java "cannot allocate memory".
Based on the input I'm getting here I'm going to reconfigure the machine to have more RAM and I'll increase the memory allocated to Java. I'll let you know if that has an impact on the stability of the system

No, it crashes at different times.

Does it crash after being used?

Nope, it'll crash whether it was used or not.
