Wonderful work. This is a beautiful application and I thank you for all the work you've put into building and improving it,

I wanted to report two issues I've noticed:
1) If I enlarge the player beyond normal size (and I pretty much have to, becuase my eyesight is awful), it won't reappear after it hides. Then the only way to stop the music is by killing SubWiji in the Task Manager.
2) If I anchor the player at the bottom of the screen and mouse over the help button, the question mark icon flips upside down and stays that way.

Thought you might want to look into these things.

Keep up the fantastic work!

By enlarge do you mean setting the Bar UI Scale setting? I have added this to the bug list to get fixed.

I know about this issue and it is in the list to fix also

Thanks

Thanks for the fast action, Paul! I'll check this out when I get back to my own computer in a few days. (On a business trip now and I can't install software on the company-owned laptop I'm using). Really looking forward to using SubWiji often.

I haven't had any issues since you fixed that https issue for me. In fact, I put a link to your site on my homepage of my server. It is an amazing app!

Looks good, seems to work fine. Can you possibly add an option to disable the 'now playing' popup window that shows up each time a song starts?

EDIT-
I noticed a couple minor things:

When searching again after a previous search the Artist tab doesnt refresh, you must click the green button on the tab (perhaps this is by design)

Have the ability to have the player free floating on the desktop... (just found the auto hide feature) (possible bug with that, when docked to bottom and trying to change auto hide setting i was unable to enable it, switching back to top it works fine and I was able to enable it)

When searching on the Artist page, the album art is 'squished' the 'cd case' is causing the art to be tall and no longer square, possibly not have the 'cd case' or make it a bit wider so it will fit a square picture in it, ie 100x100 pixels.

Perhaps, it would be possible to add the chat feature in, if that was there wouldnt be any reason to login to the default web interface of subsonic.

Thanks, These are just my suggestions....

Hi Neodawg,
I will add an option in the settings to disable the popup tomorrow :) good idea!

ah good spot, I will fix this.

The free floating design is atm not in the list but I will add it for consideration, as for the auto hide whilst docked to the bottom of the screen I have intentionally not allowed the two to be used at the same time as it was causing major UI issues. There is a plan to enable it further down the line.

I will have a look at modifying the dimensions of the cd case to out it back square again.

The chat feature is available as a secret window ;) (Alt + C) if you want give it a try. Please bear in mind that this chat window is in v v early beta stages, if you have an questions about the chat window itself please PM me about that :)

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response,

I have an inquiry about how it streams, on the screen shot below you can see a normal web user on the top and it streams the whole file as fast as possible, where as me on the bottom seems to fill a buffer for a little bit of the song and then just trickles in for the rest of the song, this method seems to work fine, but why or wouldnt your app fetch the whole song right away?

Image

EDIT-
Just noticed that the SubWiji.exe is using 10% cpu and 234mb ram, this has been playing for most of the day, with a playlist of about 6 albums. Not sure if this is normal, more so just reporting my findings.

Thanks again,

Thanks again,

Hi Neodawg,
My program only streams the file as-is the parts which it needs to play, whereas the website seems to stream the file (as a download) and then play the file (from the computer buffer), SubWiji stream and plays straight from the web stream - no file is stored, no buffer saved.
As for the 10% CPU use there is a lot of discussion in the SubWiji thread in the Mods forum (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8772&start=120).
Please have a look there for info (pages 3-4) on how to change the settings in SubWiji to lessen the CPU use if you need to.

As for the RAM use you should find this maxes out at 250MB, it is in the list to try and bring this down eventually (or if even possible).

Thanks

Paul

Another thought for the playlist...

I see that i can highlight many songs by doing CTRL+SHIFT+Click on the top wanted song and the bottom or just CTRL and whatever songs. What would be really nice is to have the ability to remove just the highlighted tracks. Perhaps a button up at the top next to 'Clear Playlist'. The use would be that I commonly want to remove just 1 album from a playlist of maybe 10+ albums, currently I would have to click 'X' on each song.

EDIT-
Also, would it be possible to not need that transcoder? I fear that if many users start using this on my server it may just kill it
Found a typo, On the Music Mixer page 'NowPlaying' does not have a space, I assume it to be 'Now Playing' :D or perhaps calling something like 'Current Users'? thoughts?

Thanks,
neodawg

I will have a look at multi select support.
I will also fix the typo.
As for the transcoder you do not have to use it but you may experience slow motion or fast motion music, I have to recommend using that as it gives best results. Why will it kill your server?

ah good spot, I will fix this.

Upon reading this again I thought it was the search box which has an issue (which I will fix), but from this it seems you mean the "Artist Cloud". The Artist Cloud does not auto refresh due to it being a long web service call.

Thanks

Ok, Im sorry I meant to say 'Album Results' anyways I can replicate the issue, If you search from the box and then click on the 'song results' tab and then close the whole window (ie click away on something else). then do a new search again for something else, it opens the search window and brings to you the 'album results' tab again (which is good) but it just keeps the same previous results, to see the new results you need to click the green refresh button. I hope that helps. :D
