Purchased version 1.3.1 running Lion 10.7.2. I'm only able to play the first song I add to a list and doesn't matter if I add songs individually or by album. I only have MP3 and I'm not downsampling.
Any idea what's going on?

This may be due to how Thumper handles pre-downloading the next song. It uses a different API call, which there is a permission for. Please make sure your user has the "User is allowed to download files" permission enabled. The next version of Thumper will check for this permission specifically.

With the release of Subsonic 4.6, Thumper 1.3.1 supports transcoding and FLAC out of the box. Remember that FLAC transcoding needs to be enabled to stream FLAC audio.

An update to Thumper will be released soon which supports adjusting the bitrate clientside, some other bug fixes, and maybe some new features!

Indeed, it does. From the Help section on Thumperapp.com:

Q: I can't get Thumper to work over SSL?
A: Thumper does support SSL. The problem is that the Subsonic SSL certificate is not from a trusted Certificate Authority, and is not trusted. To trust the certificate, navigate to your web interface in Safari. When you are prompted "Safari can't verify the identity of the website 'yoursubsonicurl'", click the Show Certificate button. Check the box to "Always trust 'subsonic.org' when connecting to "yoursubsonicurl"" and Continue.

Hope that helps. If not, shoot me an email at support@thumpperapp.com

Thinks for this major update !

- I've noticed a bug when I transcode AAC to MP3 with a custom transcode rule, when I click to the play button, I see in my subsonic.log that the song is transcoded 2 times.

- when I add a song in the queue, i see the the song is downloaded and not transcoded like the song currently playing.

- Another problem is the display of the song's duration, it is totally wrong or approximative.

You're quite welcome!

It sounds like this may be a product of the transcode rule. Thumper should be able to play AAC audio without any problems, so this shouldn't be needed. Try disabling it for your Thumper player in Subsonic via Settings > Players

This is by design. The song is preemptively downloaded in full quality. You can disable this by disabling the "Download" permission for the user you're using with Thumper.

Thumper provides the track length information provided by Subsonic. Can you compare what you're seeing in Thumper to that of what you're seeing in the web interface?

If you need further help, please feel free to jet me an email. support@thumperapp.com

Hi Lou,

No, Thumper isn't a jukebox controller for Subsonic.

I'd love to give this a shot since Submariner is so broken, but it seems to require 10.7 now :(

Yes, with Apple on the verge of releasing OS X 10.8 this year, Thumper will only support OSX 10.7 and up. I hope you can get upgraded and enjoy Thumper soon!

Hey nice app. I just bought it and have it set up on my hosted Subsonic. It works really well.

Some usability / UI ideas:

(1) The middle column that shows the albums seems to be jammed up. All the columns are expandable (as is the main window), but the rating stars are fixed against the album name. So, no matter how the column is expanded, the album is restricted to a fixed width. It makes for some weird wrapping on longer album names. Maybe an invisible column that could be resized to make the album spacing wider?

(2) Option to enqueue or replace tracks in the now-playing area. If I double click an album it auto-queues. Sometimes I just want to play that on its own as a replacement to what is currently queued. Maybe do this as a default, with a right click or option to enqueue?

(3) I see you have an option to show the track thats playing in the top tray. Can that also have next/previous/play/pause controls?

-----

Just some thoughts. Overall, its a good app. Nice work!
