ffmpeg can't handle 24 bit audio files?

Postby Lou Cipher » Sun Mar 04, 2012 6:36 pm

Seems like ffmpeg can't handle 24 bit audio files. When playing and 24 bit audio file the log reports:

Code: Select all
DEBUG InputStreamReaderThread - (/var/subsonic/transcode/ffmpeg) Incompatible sample format 's32' for codec 'pcm_s16be', auto-selecting format 's16'

Anyone knows how to fix this? I there a newer version of ffmpeg that handles 24 bit audio?

:? 96Khz 24 bit flacs play ok on mine.
What are the details for the file(s) you are trying to play?

Thank you for your response. The file I used is a 24/96kHz flac file. I just downloaded a free test file from http://www.2l.no/hires/index.html and it reports the same in subsonic.log. It does play the file but I think it is being converted from 24 bit to 16 bit.
