Time intervals not working for a video

Postby sta » Mon Mar 05, 2012 9:03 pm

Hi,

We are using Subsonic as a media server for our high school, mainly to convert a library of VHS tapes into digital media in order to get rid of failing VCR's and simplify classroom hardware setup.

We have been digitizing the tapes into .mpg files and everything is working great except that two of videos we've converted so far have the following problems:
- they don't display the total time next to the file name in the main window;
- when viewing them using the web player, the drop-down list that normally displays 1-minute intervals is empty.
This is a significant problem because teachers need to be able to play arbitrary segments of video based on their lesson plans.

I've tried manually re-indexing, with no luck on the two problem video files.

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be?
Do we need to configure the video capture and/or post-process the .mpg file to include something specific?

Thanks,
Roland

I had this problem for some video formats. I fixed it a while ago, and I will try to remember how. Hope I can help!
