Subsonic 4.5 with Apache Tomcat

Postby species8472jj » Thu Mar 15, 2012 2:15 am

I have been using 4.6, but I had to revert back to 4.5 as 4.6 has some issues with with track length and ogg format.

When I used Tomcat with 4.6, everything was fine. I uninstalled 4.6 to go back to 4.5, and the following happened...

It seems to have installed fine, however when I got to Settings --> Transcoding I get this error... (SS 4.5)

Error
Subsonic encountered an internal error. You can report this error in the Subsonic Forum. Please include the information below.

Exception javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException
Message Property 'sourceFormats' not found on type net.sourceforge.subsonic.domain.Transcoding
Java version Sun Microsystems Inc. 1.6.0_31
Operating system Windows XP 5.1
Server Apache Tomcat/6.0.35
Memory Used 33 of 63 MB

If I click on Settings -- General, I get the following error.
Error
Subsonic encountered an internal error. You can report this error in the Subsonic Forum. Please include the information below.

Exception org.springframework.beans.NotReadablePropertyException
Message Invalid property 'musicFileTypes' of bean class [net.sourceforge.subsonic.command.GeneralSettingsCommand]: Bean property 'musicFileTypes' is not readable or has an invalid getter method: Does the return type of the getter match the parameter type of the setter?

Operating system Windows XP 5.1
Server Apache Tomcat/6.0.35

Any advice would be helpful.

Although this has not been reported on the forum I wonder if there is an incompatibility between 4.6 & 4.5 databases which may be preventing the roll-back.
Try renaming your subsonic dir to subsonic_old and trying another (clean) install.

I tried a clean install and unfortunately got the same error.

I am wondering if there is an incompatibility issue.

I used Tomcat 6 with Subsonic 4.5, and this is where my issues began (see top of post). SS 4.6 worked fine.

I went back to using a Windows Service and it runs ok, but it is not as fast as when I was using Tomcat.

I am using 4.5 as it works with 4.4's ffmpeg. And I'm using 4.4's ffmpeg, because it is able to transcode mp3 to ogg without issues. And I'm doing that, because my 3G is to slow to handle my mp3's.

Hopefully 4.7 will solve these issues.

Are you using the ffmpeg with 4.7 beta 1 or are you using the ffmpeg with 4.4?
