New Windows Install, Android App Doesn't Work

Postby orangeshasta » Sun Apr 22, 2012 2:14 pm

Hi All,

I just re-installed windows after getting a new hard drive. I've installed the most up-to-date version of Subsonic, and I've copied the subsonic directory from my old hard drive to the new. So, all my settings appear to be preserved, the app still recognizes that I have donated, and everything seems fine from the web app. However, my android app gives me an error when I test the connection that says "Connection failure. Didn't understand the reply. Please check the server address." I'm using http://username.subsonic.org as I always have, though I did change the port I'm using to connect. I changed that from the tray icon, and the web app continues to work properly.

Network settings in the web app says that username.subsonic.org responded successfully, and I've tried it with and without the port forwarding option. I did a google search, but wasn't able to turn up anyone with this problem (no one with a solution, at least).

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

Well, I restarted and all of a sudden it works. Problem solved!

One more thing I noticed, however, is that in Task Manager there are three separate processes for subsonic - two of subsonic-service.exe *32 and one of subsonic-agent.exe *32. In total, they're using about 85MB or RAM. This seems high, but maybe that's how it always was. Do others see roughly the same thing?
