[SOLVED] Can't use web player all of a sudden

Hi. I've been using subsonic for a while. I usually play music remote using subair, but today I logged into the webui to browse and play some music. Instead of the music playing in the flash web player, it sent an m3u list and played in quicktime. (I'm using a mac).
I understand that players are somehow associated with users and there are different players for a user depending on how that user is connecting. I had a player called something like player5 that looked like the one my user should have been using, and it was set to web player. I tried deleting that player and cloning another and changing the name and play method, but now my user has no players in the drop down list by the play list. How do I associate this new player with my user?

I notice in the 'now playing' section, I see it thinks I'm trying to play from minisub, which is an app I have on my android phone.

If it created an m3u file then it looks like that particular player was set for external player.
If you log out then log back in SS should create a new web player (playerXX) if their isn't one already created.

I already logged out and back in a few times and it isn't creating a new player. I think I know what's going on but I don't know how to fix it. The minisub app on my phone connects using wifi when I'm at home, which is the same network my laptop is on (where I'm trying to use the web page). I'm guessing subsonic determines which player to use based on username and what IP the user is coming from? If that's the case, how do I tell it to use the web player when I'm on my laptop?

That may be possible if the laptop hasn't got a static internal ip.
If the lappie has now been given the same ip as the phone had that could cause a conflict.
If you use the phone on wifi and try to play some music and then access SS using the lappie something has got to change.
eg one of those ips will get changed by the router. See if that works

That was the problem, but playing on the android and then logging out of the web page and back in didn't help. I had to delete both players, leaving my user none. I then logged out/in and a new web player was created for me, which is working as expected.
It would be nice to a have a little more control over how these players work, so we can assign them to users based on various criteria, such as ip range, user agent, etc.
