Refresh media directory content

Postby Barny » Sun May 20, 2012 8:25 pm

I'm running a small subsonic installation, but ran into a smaller issue. Had to make some modifications in the media library content (changing filename, etc), however it is not reflected in the subsonic player. Filenames are still the old ones, despite of changed them a while ago. I tried to disable/delete the music directory, then enabling/creating it, updating search index and rebooting the server, but no success by so far. Any ideas?

I'm running 4.6 (build 2585) on Linux.

Thanks in advance!

It appears you may have done all the right things but not necessary in the right order.
Delete the directory(s) from SS where the problem files reside - then re-index
Make sure the renamed files no longer appear in subsonic
Now add back the folders previously removed and re-index.

Thanks for the hint (and sorry for my late answer). Well, it didn't work. :)

I delete the directory, re-index, but still it seems that the subsonic database is intact, at least I see the same summary in the status report (number of artists/albums/songs). So the problem persists, but not a big deal, I will reinstall Subsonic if necessary, it would be just nice to have a way to fix it.

Those figures I find tend to rather persistent - I have added a group of albums - re-indexed search - and those figures haven't changed but SS is aware of the new stuff :? .
I find clearing the browser cache - and then refreshing the page usually updates those values.
