Android Remote can no longer play RC

My android (HTC Desire) connects to the server just fine and I can play music through my phone. However if I touch the RC on the screen and then press play, nothing happens. The song progress never leaves 0:00, and nothing appears on the Subsonic screen or log.

Any suggestions how I might restore my ability to play music on my server using the phone?

Check the SS logs on the server.
