[SOLVED] user.subsonic.org not redirecting correctly

Postby ghostcorps » Thu Jun 07, 2012 3:07 am

Hi Guys,

Since moving from the standalone installation the redirection for donators is not working correctly.

The correct path is http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8180/subsonic but the redirection sends traffic to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8180. I have created an index.html to redirect users to the correct folder, but mobile applications do not follow the redirection.

I have searched high and low for help, and have found some Tomcat guides on changing the ROOT folder, but this broke the installation completely. Is there an way to have the redirection point to the subdirectory or do I just have to live with using the full path:port/subdir string?

Thanks for your attention

If I do curl -v [myusername].subsonic.org, I get:

HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily
Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1
Location: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:21680/
Content-Language: en-US
Content-Length: 0
Date: Thu, 07 Jun 2012 04:08:59 GMT
Connection: close

I guess the same thing happens to you, and your mobile device is able to follow that, so it should be very possible to create a local index file that looks the same, right? Then your mobile device would be able to follow that as well.

I get much the same result:

Code: Select all
bsd# curl -v username.subsonic.org
* About to connect() to username.subsonic.org port 80 (#0)
*   Trying xxx.xxxx.xxx.xxx...
* connected
* Connected to username.subsonic.org (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) port 80 (#0)
> GET / HTTP/1.1
> User-Agent: curl/7.24.0 (amd64-portbld-freebsd8.2) libcurl/7.24.0 OpenSSL/1.0.1c zlib/1.2.3
> Host: username.subsonic.org
> Accept: */*
>
< HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily
< Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1
< Location: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8180/subsonic/
< Content-Language: en-US
< Content-Length: 0
< Date: Thu, 07 Jun 2012 04:55:50 GMT
< Connection: close
<
* Closing connection #0

But when I try username.subsonic.org in my mobile app I was getting 'response unrecognized' but after having not changed anything it works. Oh well. Alls well that ends well :)
