Postby daniel » Fri Jan 23, 2009 1:28 pm

hi all,

i just upgraded to version 3.6.beta2 and now the web player fails to play anything. when i point the mouse over the ADD or PLAY buttons, my status line at the bottom of the browser says "javascript:noop()". the player is visible but the playlist stays empty. some specs:

- java version "1.6.0_11"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_11-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.0-b16, mixed mode)

client:
- Linux groovy 2.6.28-gentoo #2 SMP PREEMPT Tue Dec 30 14:31:33 CET 2008 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.50GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

- java version "1.6.0_12-ea"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_12-ea-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.2-b01, mixed mode)

- Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de-DE; rv:1.9.1b2) Gecko/20081213 Gentoo Firefox/3.1b2

I have the same error, but with 3.6 stable version. 3.5 works fine. I've tried reinstall subsonic, delete his configuration, but no success :-( Running on Tomcat 6.0, Gentoo 2.6.24-r2. Any idea?

javascript:noop() problem

Postby karlitoes » Wed Aug 19, 2009 3:23 pm

Hi all,

I found myself facing the same non-functionality, using 3.7 stable. Clearing the cache in FF had no effect, and I also found the same behavior in Chrome and IE 7.

I was able to solve the problem just by stopping and restarting the tomcat server. Note that the "Play all" and other buttons still seem to link to a "javascript:noop()" operation - but they are now functional.

I don't pretend to understand how reatarting the tomcat server solved this problem, but there it is. Maybe the server was sending improperly formed HTML/javascript...

I'm running the WAR version on an ubuntu server running apache and tomcat. So, I'm not exactly sure how this "solution" would pan out for those running the standalone version, or running any version on a windows cptr.

Hope this helps someone.

How do I find out if my JavaScript is turned on or off? I've been trying to watch tv online but keep getting a message that either I don't have javascript turned on or I need to download latest version of adobe flash player 9 or better. What's up?

To check whether you have flash installed just check out this site: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome
Currently without Subsonic due to hardware failure :(
