Madsonic - Mashup Mod (old Support Thread)

Wow thanks a lot for this great mod.
It works fine on My NAS (Synology Diskstation 211+) with Windows 7 x64 and Opera 11.

I am creating easy to install packages for the Synology Diskstations and would like to include this mod.

For that I have two questions:
1. What files In your stand-alone zip are different from the original subsonic zip? Is it just the subsonic.war, or the subsonic-booter-..., too.?
2. Can I publish a package containing this mod at my blog and in this forum?

hi, thx for your nice feedback

1.) yes you need only this 3 files

subsonic.sh -> shell script
subsonic.war -> java & webfiles
subsonic-booter-jar-with-dependencies.jar -> jetty, libs, etc ..

The 4.6 Build should be stable. at the moment the 4.7 branch is very experimental.
Don't forget i use a modified data structure, so you can't go back with (User-settings, Play-count, etc), Backups will help (c;=

Use it only for testing purpose and start always a fresh installation, data-migration from 4.6 does not work well at the moment.

If you have questions maybe i can help you, or you want to get your own build system as well.

Hi,

The feature list of this mod looks awesome and I am really keen on trying it out.

The only thing that is holding me back is not knowing if this will impact the various players that folks are using (such as, iSub, the android subsonic player, Periscope and other such players/apps for the IPhone and Windows that are listed here - http://www.subsonic.org/pages/apps.jsp.

I have a few friends who have "paid" versions of these apps and use them extensively to connect to my Subsonic server. While I crave this mod, I don't want to cause their apps to stop working.

Hi, nothing is changed in the Interfaces, so all my Client Appps work without modifications.

But you cant downgrade the database to an old subsonic Version example 4.6

First wanna say thank you for this nice featured mod,
as recommended i installed it from scratch and it worked fine.

using last version 3016 i've got a lot of JAVA Errors...

Then i did again a fresh install and reconfigured everything, now i got on particular Folders or when click to parent Folders (Genres in my case) JAVA Errors.

Hi, Yes Java 1.7 is general a Problem with subsonic, i hope Sindre is working on that.

i would like to suggest a feature...

save configuration in an *.ini file or similiar (folders/settings etc.)
add entire Hard Drive instead of Folders? (that's what i'm really missing)

One feature I would love to see but there are no mods that I can find, is the ability to delete media from the library (perhaps this could be admin only). This would be useful for example to me when watching tv episodes, I watch what I want then have to make a note of what I've watched and then ftp into my server and manually delete the files. It would be a lot easier to have an option to delete it in the subsonic UI.

just installed build 3016, and so far things are great. Scanned about 1.5TB of media in less than 10 minutes, and I love the DB button (nice and convenience).

Subsonic 4.6 with Mashup Mod 2625+

Unfortunately comment function on artist or album function does not work for me. Form is not shown.

Can somebody give a hint how to resolve this, please?

So I am having two issues, which are making this latest build unusable for me. Everytime I load up SubSonic in Chrome (not sure about other browsers), I get this popup error:
Cannot call method 'addEventListener' of undefined

I have to log out, and then log back in before ANYTHING will play.

Secondly, MP3s will not play. Well, some MP3s will...but I'm thinking it has sometime to do with downcoding MP3s maybe? I dunno. Transcoding MP3 to MP3 or streaming MP3 natively makes no difference, and the strange thing is...my log files on my server are not updating.

I want to close with a question...do your mashup mods eliminate viewing logs from the SubSonic web interface? I can't seem to find them.

I love this mod, I have no errors and everything seems to work fine. The following are issues that I have encountered:

+When i add cover art for an album through the image search it says it downloaded fine, and the file shows up as cover.jpg but it won't show up in the folder in subsonic, even with a new folder scan. If you click to enlarge it shows, just not in the normal view. <-- if you clear the browser cache they show up
+The sort by folder structure isn't working.
+When the chat window is on the right below the users the text does not wrap and bleeds off the screen.
+There is no button/link at top to access about page with subsonic log <-- figured this out, click subsonic logo on top left

For some reason my Similar Artists are not showing. This is supposed to be enabled by default correct? No additional config is needed? It does not display in IE8, Chrome, Firefox.
Specs:
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
IIS with ARR routing to Apache Tomcat
