I've been testing it for 3 days now. I can't find any bugs yet. A good 3g signal is a big factor for continuous uninterrupted play. I bump up the "Songs to preload" setting to unlimited so that ther's a better chance of not falling behind the player when the signal reduces the download speed while I'm on the road. I also save a play list to the phone SD card to use in offline mode when I can't get a signal.

Sending my second donation in on Friday!

It took Sindre a while to sort this out because he only owns 2 cell phones and neither is an EVO 4g nor any of the other phones that reported this bug. The repeat first track bug never occured on either of his Android phones. After emailing my phone logs and giving him detailed information regarding the time the error occured and the track that was playing at the time, he was able to make the changes for the 2.1 release.

The delay in getting this fixed wasn't because he was working on a new theme. Once he made the changes, he also had to send it to someone who knew how to install the beta 2.1 on an EVO 4g using adb. A few days testing the beta to be sure the fix was good and didn't cause other problems were necessary before putting the new version into the market.

There is a link somewhere else in the forums that leads to a to do list that Sindre keeps and lists all the things he's working on. It's quite a read.

I, for one, am thouroughly impressed by his willingness to respond to the needs of this community and provide this amazing product for such a modest fee for access to all it's features. I'm more than happy to lend my support for Subsonic whenever and wherever I can.

I hope everyone appreciates this product as much as I do. Enjoy.

Or, instead of expending negative energy in a passive-agressive approach, move on to some other software that WORKS FOR YOU? It's worth a try.

Sindre is a one programmer team, give him a break Jerard.

June 2012, and no update to this issue.

I recently upgraded from an iPhone to an Android, and would use Subsonic to listen to my music whilst I mow the lawn, as there are very few headphones with remotes where the track control functions actually work for Android devices, even fewer with decent audio, it is a pain to have to stop the mower, pull the phone out of my pocket to advance the track, because the app couldn't be bothered to.

EDIT: Mine is a Samsung Galaxy phone also (Note), I wonder if there's something there?

There shouldn't be. I have a user with a Samsung SII that has been fine on all my sites for quite a while now. He recently upgraded to ICS on the SII and still has no problems so far. We are now running 4.7 b2 and transcoding music to ogg for Android mobil.

We did test the same settings for use on the iSub app, but the ogg output had problems so we just switched them back to mp3.

I don't know why that happens, but SS has always been a bit quircky in that regard and takes a bit of testing to get the right setup with different platforms and file types.

Send me a PM if you want to test drive your Note on my site to see if it works with my settings.

I am having the same problem with my Galaxy Note, and others have reported the same problem with a number of different servers and different Android devices throughout the forums, so clearly there is a bug in the Android player, or something.

Here's my post on the issue:
