New Install - W2K3

Postby breese » Sat Feb 21, 2009 1:19 pm

I have a W2K3 server and am currently using Jinzora.

I have a working web server on this machine with 3 web sites.
The current config is basicly
Web Server and Windows Media Server are installed
2 gig of ram and 2 raid 5's installed.
C: Boot
F: web sites area
G: backup area

I am looking to install Subsonic and am willing to test.
I would prefer to have as much of Subsonic on the Web Sites drive as possible.

I would also like to have / help with possibly getting Subsonic to communicate to my Media Server and do live playlist updates.

thanks for the time and I look forward to any suggestions and ideas on installing Subsonic.

I run Subsonic on IIS 7 (Vista) and it works great. Here is a thread that talks about it.

You need to keep the Subsonic program files in Program Files (you might be able to install them to a separate drive) but to move the subsonic web/active directory just read this thread.

Just install it where it's ment to be, can i ask why you want it installed else where?

FWIW, you should be able to get Subsonic to pull/index music from your media server by simply providing the UNC path to the storage within subsonic... e.g \\musicserver\sharename

I've subsonic running in a windows 2003 VM, pulling it's music via UNC path from another Windows 2003 VM. Works great!
