Try just tossing the ip and port onto a browser. It should go.

i figured it out. i was putting the info in the subsonic browser on the computer. i put the info in the subsonic app and im good but it still says it connection refused on the computer. would you recommend always using the ip and port instead of the username.subsonic.org for issues like this in the future?

subsonic.org down?

Postby Chad » Tue Jul 03, 2012 5:29 am

Mobile yes, home no, as mine automatically goes local at home as to not chew up ISP bandwidth. So phone is always ISP addy. Use myname.subsonic.org at home and work as it selects. And is easy.

Unless it breaks. Like now, then at work I use my ISP addy as the address and at home the local address.

Fantastic you got it going though!

This worked for me > http:// yourname*.dyndns-server.com:8080

I haven't changed the network settings (in hope that this will all be resolved soon)
With 'shares', the same address, but with the unique share code i,e http://yourname*.dyndns-server.com:8080/share/unique identifier. I don't use a router, so am not sure if that would make any difference to the procedure.

* Obviously, 'yourname' is whatever your dyndns address is (if you have one) Stating the ... erm ... obvious really :P

A little tip which may come in handy (it just did for me):

If you use GMail and leave it open in your Subsonic server (in a browser tab, for instance), you can find your IP by opening your GMail account, then looking for the detailed information on active connections (bottom right of the page). A list with all IPs accessing your account will pop up; you can easily find your home IP that way. Then it's just a matter of opening the IP plus the correct port (usually it's either http://xx.xx.xx.xx:6120 or https://xx.xx.xx.xx:4430)

Of course, if you run Subsonic in a dedicated box, the best solution is to setup DynDNS or something of the sort, but this trick might help.

Best regards
