That's good news! I'm glad to hear it's working well.

I'm really not an artist (a friend of mine made the good-looking radio / genre cloud icons) so I don't plan on creating a black theme myself. However, it shouldn't be too hard if you're familiar with Gimp etc to create inverted icons out of the ones supplied? If anybody would like to extend the existing themes ("Back in black", "Monochrome black" etc) and sent me the missing icons, I'd be happy to bundle them to make the theme complete.

Last.fm artwork looks good again for me. But you might have to clear your cache in case your browser stored a certain image URL as "not accessible".

Hakko,
just wondering...
On the "Related artists" page and on the bottom it shows "You might also like", is there a way to get them to open in a new window/tab instead in subsonics main frame? Or is there a reason for this? Is there plans to let the user/admin set how many "Related artists" & "You might also like" are shown? I would love to see more if possible. This is by far my favorite feature is the ability to see related artists not in my database. thanks again for all your work on this.

People browse sites in different ways. Some browsers don't have the concept of "windows" and "tabs", others just prefer to stay in the same window. I think 'same window' is the best default option as the people who prefer "new window/tab" can click the link with their middle button/scroll wheel, ctrl+click on windows, cmd+click on a mac etc, add a plugin that open links for new domains in new tabs etc. I think it would be more fun if the link itself was configurable, so that people could choose to read about new bands at last.fm, allmusic, wikipedia, end up at their favorite bittorrent tracker etc. If I do that, I'll add new window/same window as an option too.

It's a common feature request to control the number of returned results and number of rows/columns so I guess I'll make that configurable too at some point.

I'm not sure about data quality though - obviously, if you asked for 50 related artists, the bottom one wouldn't be as good as the first one suggested.

Hmm, never saw that before. I need some more information though to fix it. Could you upload C:\Program Files\Subsonic\log\subsonic-service.log (or the equivalent if you're on another platform) somewhere, like Dropbox or pastebin.com? Did you download subsonic.war or subsonic-beta.war? What exactly did you do? I'm not a wizard so I need more details to understand what's happening. Thanks!

I created a Sonic (Black) theme that I think is going to look pretty good. Unfortunately I can't get it to show up in the list of available themes in Subsonic. Is there anything else that needs to be done to make it available besides adding a listing for it in the ...Web-INF/classes/net/sourceforge/subsonic/theme/theme/themes.txt file?

After creating all of the files and icons whenever I restart the Subsonic server I am am unable to connect to it the first time I try. If I re-load the web page I am then able to connect OK. Does this mean that there is an error in one of my theme files and it is getting blocked after the first time I try to access the log-in page?

Oh yes, a contributor!

I played around myself now to create a Sonic (Pink) theme. This is what I did:

1. stop the Subsonic service
2. in jetty/<version.number>/webapp/WEB-INF/classes/net/sourceforge/subsonic/theme, alter themes.txt and create sonic_pink.properties
3. in jetty/<version.number>/webapp/style, create sonic_pink.css
4. in jetty/<version.number>/webapp/icons, create sonic_pink (directory)
5. start the Subsonic service

It actually worked and came out all pink (after editing the properties files and the css file)

Can you check for a file called subsonic-service.log and see if it gives any hints on something that went wrong? sounds related to the theme-making if it started happening just now. If you don't want to bang your head against the wall, I could try and put the files together as a theme if you'd prefer that.

@hakko: Thank you for getting back to me... I was not able to find anything in the log files that helped me figure out why my theme is not working. I would love it if you would take a look at the files and see if you can find anything. You can get them here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?3fta40zi7p45eiw Feel free to make any edits you like. Since I have not been able to use it I am not 100% certain all of the colors are as they should be, etc...

Maybe I'm missing something but shouldn't there be a genres.png, a radio.png and an enqueue.png as well? just looked quickly now before putting it together.

When I made the icons I went through the ones you had in the sonic_white icon folder and inverted the colors for them using Gimp. I am assuming I must have missed genres, radio and enqueue... When I get home from work I will create those and try again.

I am curious, thought, as to whether missing icons would cause the theme to not be available... Do you know?

Thank you for looking at what I have done so far...

Did you look in (...)/jetty/0.6.2/webapp/icons/sonic_white? these are the new ones so there might have been another sonic_white folder on your system from a previous version or so.

Missing images shouldn't cause any trouble though, you can actually use all the existing themes just now, they'll just lack the new icons in the top menu.

I feel like such an idiot. I think I figured out all of the problems I reported... I had copied, edited and re-saved all of the files and icons in (...)/jetty/####/webapp/(...) (from the original install of Subsonic), instead of using (...)/jetty/0.6.2/webapp/(...).

Ughhhhh.

Oh no problem. I've spent so much time messing with this code so I kind of forget that everyone's not as familiar with it. Let me know when you've finished the last icons and we'll put something together!
